Juan Diego Mateosis a celebrated flamenco guitarist, born in 1969 in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz. He began his musical journey at a young age under the guidance of local masters such as El Carboneroand José Luis Balao. By the age of ten, he was already deeply rooted in flamenco tradition.
His formal training includes guitar studies with Manolo Sanlúcar and harmony classes with Luis Balaguer. This solid foundation, combined with his personal expression and technical brilliance, makes him one of the most authentic and versatile flamenco guitarists of his generation.

Biography Juan Diego Mateos (guitar)
Juan Diego Mateos was born in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) in 1969. He started learning the Jerezano style under local masters such as El Carbonero and José Luis Balao. At the age of ten, he delved deeply into flamenco guitar studies and completed his training under Manolo Sanlúcar and Luis Balaguer for harmony. His international career began with the children’s ballet Albarizuela, leading to a flourishing career in dance accompaniment, which further developed after moving to Madrid around 1989.
Juan Diego then joined Rafael Aguilar’s company, performing in “Carmen.” He collaborated with Luisillo on “Luna de Sangre,” composing the music, and joined Joaquín Cortés’ company. He also created dance compositions for Antonio el Pipa’s “Herencia Gitana” and Antonio Vargas’ “La Casa de Bernarda Alba,” and accompanied dancers like Joaquín Grilo, Juana Amaya, and Antonio Canales.
As a studio guitarist, he recorded with Remedios Amaya, Jorge Pardo, and others. In autumn 2003, he released his first solo album, Luminaria, which won him the 2003 National Critics Award for Best Debut Guitar Album.
In 2005, Juan Diego Mateos received the award for Best Original Music for Dance at the XIV Spanish and Flamenco Dance Choreography Competition in Madrid for his composition for the piece “Todo lo Perderé” by La Calabaza Danza Teatro. As a guitarist and composer, he was commissioned by BOSE to record two documentaries, “Halifax-Canada” and “Ten Days in Madrid,” to promote their HI-FI equipment across 32 different countries.
He recorded his second album in November 2009 in Boston with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, collaborating with musicians Lenny Peterson and Guillermo McGill. Currently, he is a member of the groups “Mixto Lobo” and “Vientos Flamencos” and accompanies artists like Remedios Amaya.
Alongside Antonio Soteldo “Musiquitas,” he composed music for the children’s dance piece “Un regalo inesperado” by La Calabaza Danza-Teatro/Sandra Bonilla, performing the music live.
Together with Antonio Soteldo and Alex Berti, Juan Diego Mateos composed the Concert Andalucia, which premiered in March 2012 with the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO).

Biography Lidia Rodriguez (singer)
Lidia Rodríguez González, born in Paradas (Seville) in 1997, is an outstanding flamenco singer with a comprehensive and diverse training. She began her studies at the age of 13 and has been professionally dedicated to flamenco since she was 18. She studied at the Cristina Heeren Foundation, the “Cristóbal de Morales” Conservatory in Seville, and is currently pursuing an Advanced Degree in Flamenco Singing at the “Rafael Orozco” Conservatory in Cordoba. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education with a focus on Music from the University of Seville.
In her artistic career, she has participated in numerous flamenco events and festivals, such as the Circuito Andaluz de Peñas Flamencas, the Bienal de Flamenco en la Provincia de la Diputación de Sevilla, and the Festival del Mostachón Joven de Utrera, among others. She has received several awards, including the First Prize “Manuel Mairena” in the national Antonio Mairena competition, the First Special Prize for Colombiana in the National Competition of Cantes de Ida y Vuelta in Marchena, and the Special Youth Prize in the Soleá de Alcalá Competition.
Her academic background includes a Professional Degree in Flamenco Singing from the “Cristóbal de Morales” Conservatory in Seville, a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education with a specialization in Music from the University of Seville, and she is currently pursuing an Advanced Degree in Flamenco Singing at the “Rafael Orozco” Conservatory in Cordoba. She also obtained a Master’s degree in Flamencology from ESMUC. With a solid education and an outstanding artistic career, Lidia Rodríguez is a prominent figure in the flamenco world.
She is currently the principal flamenco singer of the Orquesta Sinfonica Flamenca de España.
Biography Nina Pérez (dancer)
Nina Pérez took her first dance steps at the age of 4 in the sunny south of Spain, learning Sevillanas with her cousins. Growing up in the flamenco world of her parents, Ana Ramón and Antonio Pérez Martin, she discovered her own talents. At 17, Nina won the First Prize at the “International Flamenco Competition” in Antwerp. To perfect her skills, she moved to Seville in 2007, studying flamenco at “Academia Manuel Betanzos” and “Escuela Ados de Angel Atienza” with guest teachers like Mercedes Ruiz, Belen Maya, and Rafael Campallo.
She has collaborated with renowned Spanish artists, including Antonio Molina “El Choro,” Miguel Angel Heredia, and Gabriel de la Tomasa. During the prestigious “Festival de Flamenco” in Jerez, Nina attended a masterclass with choreographer Javier La Torre and had the opportunity to perform on stage at the 2010 Jerez Festival.
Nina Pérez is now known as an elegant, feminine dancer with a personal interpretation and presence.
Her dance style combines the grace of the Sevillian school with the playful rhythm of Jerez. She has also created many beautiful choreographies for various international projects.
Her artistic contributions include tv programs such as Vlaanderen Boven, Afrit 9, Man Bijt Hond, Villa Vanthilt and Masterchef.
Biography Pastora Flamenco (dancer)
Pastora is a shining star in today’s flamenco universe. With her fiery expression, refined technique, and undeniable stage presence, she captivates audiences and experts alike, both nationally and internationally.
Born in the Netherlands, Pastora found her artistic home in the south of Spain. In Algeciras, Cádiz, she studied flamenco dance and developed her art at the heart of Andalusia’s flamenco tradition. She continues to travel regularly to Spain to deepen her knowledge and refine her artistry.
She has performed at renowned flamenco venues such as the Peña Flamenca de Conil, Tablao Flamenco Almedina in Tarifa, El Limbo in Algeciras, and stages in Sotogrande. In 2020, her mastery was recognized with the quality certificate from the prestigious Escuela Flamenca de Andalucía.
Pastora is the founder and artistic director of her own dance academy, Pastora Flamenco, based in Amsterdam. She trained with grand masters in Madrid, Jerez, Seville, and Cádiz, developing a style that combines deep traditional roots with personal strength and refinement.
She appeared in the documentary The Luthier and performed as a guest dancer on the NPO1 program Rembrandt. On stage, she has shared the spotlight with flamenco singer Antonio Carrasco, and she tours annually with the renowned dancer Noelia Sabarea from Algeciras.
Pastora has collaborated with flamenco legends such as Pepe de Pura, Juan José Amador, Luis Amador, Felipe de Algeciras, Paco Javier Jimeno, Ana Fargas, El Shuster, Fran de Algeciras, Messi, and Lola ‘La Chiri’.
Her exceptional talent was also recognized at the Dutch Flamenco Biennale, where she was selected for public masterclasses with icons like Farruquito, Rocío Molina, Israel Galván, Olga Pericet, and Isabel Bayón.
Pastora is more than a dancer she embodies flamenco: intense, pure, and timeless.
Biography Ramón León Matías (percussion)
Ramón León Matías, born in Antwerp to Andalusian parents from Cádiz, has been passionate about flamenco since the age of eight. Since 2004, he has lived in Roeselare and has pursued extensive percussion training. He attended local workshops in Jerez de la Frontera and Sanlúcar de Barrameda with Gerardo Núñez, music seminars at Amor de Dios in Madrid, Taller de Músics in Barcelona, and classes in Granada and Seville. He has studied with renowned teachers like Cepillo, Salvador Matías, and Bartolo de Cádiz, and participated in various flamenco festivals and gypsy celebrations in Spain.
His innate sense of rhythm is well-known, and his passion has driven him to master the various “palos” (styles) of pure flamenco. He is also experienced in other genres like pop, rock, salsa, jazz, and reggae, making him a versatile accompanist. Ramón has had the honor of collaborating with numerous musicians, singers, and dancers.

Biography Ángel Sánchez González "Cepillo" (percussion)
Ángel Sánchez González “Cepillo”, percussionist from Sanlúcar, known in the music world as “Cepillo”, has been sharing his rhythms with soloists and groups from different genres such as flamenco, rock, jazz fusion and Brazilian music since he was a young boy. What started as a pure passion quickly turned into a profession. The son of Andalusian emigrants, he has an impressive resume with numerous performances throughout Spain, taking part in the most important shows and festivals in cities such as Madrid, Seville, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia. Some of his notable performances include those at the Veranos de la Villa in Madrid with Manolo Sanlúcar, at the Teatro Bellas Artes in Madrid with Duquende and at the Bienal de Sevilla 2000 with Tomatito and Moraíto Chico.
He is also well-known internationally, having performed in cities such as Paris, Rome, London, New York, Tokyo, Havana and Helsinki. The Jazz festivals of Montreux (Switzerland) and Grenoble (France) with Gerardo Núñez stand out in particular. He has collaborated, recorded and given courses with greats such as Gerardo Núñez, Manolo Sanlúcar, Tomatito, Duquende, Carmen Cortés, Carmen Linares, Rafael Riqueni, Esperanza Fernández, Vicente Amigo, Isidro Muñoz, José Miguel Évora, José Antonio Galicia, Javier Barón, La Tobala, Pedro Sierra, Tino di Geraldo, Perico Sambeat, Michael Brecker, Renaud García Fons and Zakir Hussain. He has even had permanent collaborations with some of them, such as in the Gerardo Núñez Trio, which in 2002 supported the cantaora Carmen Linares on her album ‘Un ramito de locura’. He has also participated in the Jazzpaña project, together with Carles Benavent, Jorge Pardo and Chano Domínguez; and in the recording of albums by groups and singers such as Enrique el Extremeño and collective projects such as ‘Gerardo Núñez presents: The New School of Flamenco Guitar’.
