Juan Diego Mateosis a celebrated flamenco guitarist, born in 1969 in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz. He began his musical journey at a young age under the guidance of local masters such as El Carboneroand José Luis Balao. By the age of ten, he was already deeply rooted in flamenco tradition.
His formal training includes guitar studies with Manolo Sanlúcar and harmony classes with Luis Balaguer. This solid foundation, combined with his personal expression and technical brilliance, makes him one of the most authentic and versatile flamenco guitarists of his generation.

Biography Juan Diego Mateos (guitar)
Juan Diego Mateos was born in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) in 1969. He started learning the Jerezano style under local masters such as El Carbonero and José Luis Balao. At the age of ten, he delved deeply into flamenco guitar studies and completed his training under Manolo Sanlúcar and Luis Balaguer for harmony. His international career began with the children’s ballet Albarizuela, leading to a flourishing career in dance accompaniment, which further developed after moving to Madrid around 1989.
Juan Diego then joined Rafael Aguilar’s company, performing in “Carmen.” He collaborated with Luisillo on “Luna de Sangre,” composing the music, and joined Joaquín Cortés’ company. He also created dance compositions for Antonio el Pipa’s “Herencia Gitana” and Antonio Vargas’ “La Casa de Bernarda Alba,” and accompanied dancers like Joaquín Grilo, Juana Amaya, and Antonio Canales.
As a studio guitarist, he recorded with Remedios Amaya, Jorge Pardo, and others. In autumn 2003, he released his first solo album, Luminaria, which won him the 2003 National Critics Award for Best Debut Guitar Album.
In 2005, Juan Diego Mateos received the award for Best Original Music for Dance at the XIV Spanish and Flamenco Dance Choreography Competition in Madrid for his composition for the piece “Todo lo Perderé” by La Calabaza Danza Teatro. As a guitarist and composer, he was commissioned by BOSE to record two documentaries, “Halifax-Canada” and “Ten Days in Madrid,” to promote their HI-FI equipment across 32 different countries.
He recorded his second album in November 2009 in Boston with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, collaborating with musicians Lenny Peterson and Guillermo McGill. Currently, he is a member of the groups “Mixto Lobo” and “Vientos Flamencos” and accompanies artists like Remedios Amaya.
Alongside Antonio Soteldo “Musiquitas,” he composed music for the children’s dance piece “Un regalo inesperado” by La Calabaza Danza-Teatro/Sandra Bonilla, performing the music live.
Together with Antonio Soteldo and Alex Berti, Juan Diego Mateos composed the Concert Andalucia, which premiered in March 2012 with the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO).

Biography Lidia Rodriguez (singer)

Lidia Rodríguez González, born in Paradas (Seville) in 1997, is an outstanding flamenco singer with an extensive and diverse musical education. She began her training at the age of thirteen and has dedicated herself professionally to flamenco since the age of eighteen.
She trained at the Cristina Heeren Foundation and at the “Cristóbal de Morales” Conservatoire in Seville, where she completed her Professional Degree in Flamenco Singing. She later graduated with an Advanced Degree in Flamenco Singing from the “Rafael Orozco” Conservatoire in Córdoba. In addition, she holds a Degree in Primary Education with Music as her specialisation from the University of Seville.
Throughout her artistic career, she has taken part in numerous flamenco events and festivals, including the Circuito Andaluz de Peñas Flamencas, the Bienal de Flamenco en la Provincia de la Diputación de Sevilla, the Festival del Mostachón Joven de Utrera, and she served for one year as flamenco singer with the Orquesta Sinfónica Flamenca de España, among others.
She has received several prestigious awards, including First Prize “Manuel Mairena” at the National Antonio Mairena Competition, First Special Prize for Colombiana at the National Competition of Cantes de Ida y Vuelta in Marchena, and the Special Young Artist Prize at the Soleá Competition of Alcalá.
Her academic achievements also include a Master’s Degree in Flamencology from ESMUC. With a solid academic background and a distinguished artistic career, Lidia Rodríguez González is regarded as one of the prominent emerging voices in the world of flamenco. She is currently a flamenco singing lecturer at the “Rafael Orozco” Conservatoire in Córdoba.
Biography Léa Llinares (dancer)
Léa Llinares, born in France, is a distinguished flamenco dancer known for her remarkable career and contributions to the art form. At 18, after years of classical and Spanish dance training, she discovered flamenco through schools in Toulouse. This encounter led her to Andalusia, where she immersed herself in the flamenco culture. In 2011, Léa moved to Seville to deepen her studies at the Fundación de Arte Flamenco Cristina Heeren, where she trained under masters such as Ana Morales, Javier Baron, El Choro, and especially Milagros Mengibar. In 2012, she received a scholarship from the Fundación Cristina Heeren, further enhancing her practice and technique.
During this time, she gained stage experience with regular performances in tablaos. In 2014, she stood out as a solo dancer at the festival “Passe ton Bach d’abord.” She created her first solo show, “No Me Ha Dejado,” with musicians Kiko Ruiz, Alberto Garcia, and Juan Manuel Cortes. Her presence was also noted as a guest artist for the company “Retorno Flamenco” with the show “Cruzando el Puente” during the Festival d’Arte Flamenco de Mont de Marsan in 2015. She also collaborated with the Bordeaux group Nicolas Saez Sextet for various performances, including “De Allí Paca,” “En mi sitio,” and “Encuentro” in 2024.
In 2016, Léa shone in the show “VivenciAs” during the Rencontres Flamenco et Andaloues d’Albi. She also worked with the Vicente Pradal company for the shows “Del Flamenco a Lorca” and “Medianoche,” and performed solo at the Festival Arte Flamenco de Mont de Marsan. The following year, she was a finalist in the “Talento de Baile 2017” competition, organized by the Fundación Cristina Heeren in collaboration with the Instituto Andaluz del Flamenco at the Sala Compañia de Jerez. In 2017, she created the show “Desvelo.”
In August 2019, Léa was invited to the prestigious Festival de Baalbeck in Lebanon, where she shared the stage with renowned artists such as Omar Bashir, Jahida Wehbe, and Melchior Campos. In 2020, she explored new possibilities by combining flamenco with electronic music alongside multi-instrumentalist Alex Carrasco, resulting in the creation of “Opalo Project” in 2021.
Léa Llinares continues to enrich the world of flamenco with her innovative creations and captivating performances, establishing herself as a prominent figure on the contemporary flamenco scene.
Biography Ramón León Matías (percussion)
Ramón León Matías, born in Antwerp to Andalusian parents from Cádiz and based in Roeselare since 2004, was captivated by flamenco from the age of eight. From an early age, he actively sought out the pure essence of flamenco and embraced every opportunity to develop his percussion skills.
He undertook training courses and masterclasses in Jerez de la Frontera and Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz) with Gerardo Núñez, as well as music seminars in Madrid (Amor de Dios), Barcelona (Taller de Músics), Granada and Seville. He also studied with renowned artists such as Cepillo, Salvador Matías and Bartolo de Cádiz, and participated in numerous flamenco festivals and traditional gypsy celebrations in Spain.
His innate sense of rhythm and deep-rooted passion for the art form led him to an intensive study of the various paloswithin traditional flamenco. Over the years, he has developed into a versatile percussionist with a strong and distinctive musical identity. In addition to flamenco, he is equally at home in other musical genres including pop, rock, salsa, jazz and reggae, making him a highly adaptable and experienced accompanying musician.
Today, Ramón is active not only as a percussionist but also as a flamenco producer in the Benelux, with a particular focus on Belgium. Through his artistic vision and international network, he produces high-quality flamenco productions and tours, building bridges between leading Spanish artists and the Belgian cultural landscape. Biography Ángel Sánchez González "Cepillo" (percussion)
Ángel Sánchez González “Cepillo”, percussionist from Sanlúcar, known in the music world as “Cepillo”, has been sharing his rhythms with soloists and groups from different genres such as flamenco, rock, jazz fusion and Brazilian music since he was a young boy. What started as a pure passion quickly turned into a profession. The son of Andalusian emigrants, he has an impressive resume with numerous performances throughout Spain, taking part in the most important shows and festivals in cities such as Madrid, Seville, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia. Some of his notable performances include those at the Veranos de la Villa in Madrid with Manolo Sanlúcar, at the Teatro Bellas Artes in Madrid with Duquende and at the Bienal de Sevilla 2000 with Tomatito and Moraíto Chico.
He is also well-known internationally, having performed in cities such as Paris, Rome, London, New York, Tokyo, Havana and Helsinki. The Jazz festivals of Montreux (Switzerland) and Grenoble (France) with Gerardo Núñez stand out in particular. He has collaborated, recorded and given courses with greats such as Gerardo Núñez, Manolo Sanlúcar, Tomatito, Duquende, Carmen Cortés, Carmen Linares, Rafael Riqueni, Esperanza Fernández, Vicente Amigo, Isidro Muñoz, José Miguel Évora, José Antonio Galicia, Javier Barón, La Tobala, Pedro Sierra, Tino di Geraldo, Perico Sambeat, Michael Brecker, Renaud García Fons and Zakir Hussain. He has even had permanent collaborations with some of them, such as in the Gerardo Núñez Trio, which in 2002 supported the cantaora Carmen Linares on her album ‘Un ramito de locura’. He has also participated in the Jazzpaña project, together with Carles Benavent, Jorge Pardo and Chano Domínguez; and in the recording of albums by groups and singers such as Enrique el Extremeño and collective projects such as ‘Gerardo Núñez presents: The New School of Flamenco Guitar’.
